This poster was designed for the purpose of Semiotics, where someone or something is represented by imagery other than the person or thing itself.  My symbolism was directed at Joss Whedon (since he is an amazing director).  The background (shown separately) represents both Captain America's shield and the symbol on the Firefly Serenity.  The Chinese symbols are for Strong Female/Female Hero (top right) and for Serenity (bottom left).  The stylizing of the shields into a block or puzzle is representative of a quote from Joss stating that putting together a movie is like putting together a puzzle.  All the pieces have to fit perfectly.  This text-based picture uses quotes from Joss as well as some of his well-known productions.
